BELL, BOYD & LLOYD: Chicago law firm Bell, Boyd & Lloyd opened an office in San Diego on Wednesday to expand its corporate and intellectual-property practices. The group hired six San
Diego-based attorneys, led by Stephanie Seidman, a biotechnology patent attorney, from Fish & Richardson, and David Fischer, a corporate attorney, from Fisher Thurber. Bell Boyd & Lloyd also recruited seven scientists who work with Seidman and have backgrounds in molecular biology, immunology, organic chemistry and biochemistry to help start-up biotech and pharmaceutical companies obtain patents for their technology and commercialize products. Bell, Boyd & Lloyd also has an office in Washington.
