The California State Parks Interpretation and Education Division hired Cook + Schmid to conduct research and develop recommendations on how to promote the parks’ educational programs to educators. Cook + Schmid conducted a literature review, an audit of existing marketing materials, one-on-one interviews, focus groups, and a statistically valid survey of more than 100 teachers. Findings revealed that 91% of educators were interested in park visits and more frequent communication from park staff. Cook + Schmid created a comprehensive report, including recommendations to strengthen the partnerships between the education system and state parks.
